Debenham Vets upgrade to new digital X-ray
QMS Veterinary replaces an ageing CR system with a European-designed and built DR X-ray solution, completing removal and installation in one day.
The Requirement
When the practice’s ageing CR X-ray system developed a fault, QMS engineer Joe attended the site to investigate whether a repair was possible.
The system was no longer supported by its manufacturer, and replacement parts could not be sourced. Even if the required part had been available, the cost of repair would have been uneconomical.
The practice therefore needed a replacement that would support its everyday imaging requirements, with a carefully managed installation to minimise disruption to clinical work.
The Solution: GER VetTech 300HF Advanced
QMS recommended upgrading to the GER VetTech 300HF Advanced, a European-designed and built digital X-ray system developed for veterinary use.
Practice Owner Peter Wilson considered the QMS system alongside alternative options before selecting the VetTech solution.
The upgrade provides:
Direct digital image acquisition, removing the need to process CR plates.
A more streamlined workflow, with fewer steps between taking an exposure and reviewing the image.
A complete replacement for the practice’s ageing X-ray equipment.

Installation and Support from QMS Veterinary
On 29th October, QMS engineers Joe and Marcus removed the practice’s old equipment and installed the new GER VetTech 300HF Advanced system within the same day.
By coordinating removal and installation as one planned visit, the team kept downtime to a minimum and limited disruption to the practice’s clinical work.
QMS provided continuity throughout the project, from Joe’s initial repair assessment through to the installation, with ongoing engineering support available as the practice uses its new system.
The Outcome
Debenham Vets now has a modern DR X-ray system, allowing the clinical team to acquire images directly without the additional handling and processing associated with CR plates.
The same-day changeover enabled the practice to replace its unsupported equipment with minimal planned downtime, backed by QMS Veterinary’s engineering expertise.
The project demonstrates QMS’s practical approach to imaging support: investigating repair first, recommending an upgrade when repair is no longer economical, and managing the replacement around the needs of the practice.
